Personal
Q. Favorite games and game genres?
I play indie games of all kinds and prefer them over AAA games because my laptop (usually) can run them.
My favorite genre is platformer, most notably I enjoy Shovel Knight and The End is Nigh. But I enjoy any game that gives you a sense of mastery over time, like Rain World, Terraria, or Nine Sols.
I prefer action over strategy and co-op over competitiveness. This is why I don't play card games or fighting games.
Q. Can we talk/can we be friends?
I like talking to people, so yes, feel free to message me. But I am not looking for friends, I'm aplatonic. We will only become friends if I end up liking you very much.
Q. How and why did you learn Japanese?
When I was in high school, I learned it with a tutor and I got to approximately N3 in three years. Back then, finding a Japanese course in my city was a rare opportunity, so I thought, why not give it a try? I had to drop out and I've been learning it very passively ever since. Right now, I use my knowledge to check out Japanese media that wasn't translated into English.
Q. How did you learn HTML/Godot/how to make games/etc?
Online tutorials. If you want to learn something, there is almost always a tutorial for it somewhere, and I think you are curious enough to be able to find them on your own! But here are the ones I used:
- For HTML/CSS/JavaScript: plain text tutorials by HTML Dog.
- For Godot and GDScript: videos by Clear Code.
- For PICO-8: videos by SpaceCat.
Also, in my experience, learning things like this takes time, effort, and energy. It's okay to take a break and come back later. For example, I first started learning HTML in 2023, but only came back to publish my site a year later.
Art
Q. For how long have you been drawing?
I started doing digital art using a graphic tablet in 2015. Before that I drew traditionally and using a mouse.
Q. What do you use to draw?
My tablet is Wacom Intuos Pen & Touch. My program is Clip Studio Paint.
Q. What brushes do you use?
The answer is probably in this post.
Q. Can I use or repost your art?
Using my art non-commerically is fine. This includes using it as your profile picture or wallpaper, using it in edits, as faceclaims, etc. Reposting is fine too.
I appreciate credit, but it's not required if the drawing has my signature (since peeps can find me by my username).
Q. Can I take inspiration from your art, or reference it?
Yes! Using references and having sources of inspiration are important aspects of artistic growth! Go ahead!
OCs
Q. Where can I learn more about your characters?
My Toyhouse, mostly. Some of their "lore" is revealed through art and comics, so check those out too. If you have any specific questions, you can ask me on Tumblr or directly in DMs.
Q. Can I make fanart of your characters?
Yes! You don't have to show it to me if you're shy, but if you want me to see it feel free to send it to me in DMs or through a Tumblr ask :3
Q. Is it okay to take inspiration from your designs?
Of course! Nothing is 100% original. My OCs are mish-mashes of things I enjoy. It's totally fine to take inspo and to make designs resembling mine.
Q. What kind of relationship do Scare and Rage have?
They are friends. Sometimes they are friends with benefits, sometimes they are friends with detriments. Sometimes they are also enemies.
